Individual Therapy
My approach to individual therapy is trauma-informed and grounded in the idea that people are often intuitive about what healing looks like for them but may need support in the journey. I provide a compassionate and queer-affirming space for healing, personal growth, and empowerment. I work with individuals to gain insight into how familial patterns, societal pressures, and childhood wounds influence their current issues and personal relationships. Sessions often focus on deconstructing unhelpful thoughts, reconnecting with your mind and body, and learning new ways of coping.
Therapy can also offer vital support to professionals in the entertainment industry facing industry stress, burnout, trauma, identity struggles, and personal challenges.

Overall, I aim to support the unique experiences of the Black, Brown, and queer communities. In addition, I also help folx work through issues such as trauma (including sexual trauma), racial stress, anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, and work-related stressors.

Eye Movement & Desensitization Therapy (EMDR)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a specific therapeutic technique or form of therapy that can help address a range of issues typically around traumatic experiences. I utilize EMDR, when requested and appropriate, to help clients process difficult emotions and memories in a safe and effective way.

Relationship Therapy for Couples & Polycules
Relationship therapy is a great way for partners to build a deeper emotional connection and appreciation for each other. I help partners unpack the influence of their family history and societal expectations on their current dynamic and attachment styles. Relationship therapy can also help partners better understand each other and themselves while learning better ways to communicate and have a fulfilling relationship.
4
Family Therapy w/ Adolescents & Adult Children
Family therapy provides a supportive environment for families to connect and strengthen their relationships, especially during challenging times. Whether navigating the complexities of interracial families, an adolescent exploring their sexuality, reconnecting as adult children, or other familial concerns, family sessions are aimed at creating a reparative attachment experience and fostering a secure parent-child relationship.

Group Therapy
One of the biggest barriers to healing is isolation. Group therapy is an excellent way for individuals to connect and find support with others dealing with similar life experiences. It is also a powerful way to gain insight about yourself. In sessions, we create a safe and inclusive environment where group members can engage in collective liberation by sharing and learning from each other.

Understanding and Using a Superbill for Therapy Reimbursement
Navigating therapy costs can feel overwhelming, but a superbill can make it easier to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. This guide explains what a superbill is, how to use it, and tips for working with your insurance company.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a detailed invoice provided by your therapist that includes all the necessary information your insurance company requires to process a claim for out-of-network reimbursement. Think of it as a receipt for services that go beyond a standard invoice by including :

-
Your therapist’s name, credentials, and contact information.
-
Client name, address, and date of birth
-
Their tax ID and National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
-
The date(s) of service.
-
A detailed list of services provided (including CPT codes).
-
A diagnosis
-
The total cost of services.
-
Proof of payment, if applicable.

-
Ask about the following:
-
Reimbursement rates for out-of-network mental health services. Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
-
Whether you need pre-authorization.
-
If there is a deductible to meet before reimbursement begins. What is my deductible for out-of-network services?
-
What percentage of the fee will you reimburse after the deductible is met?
-
Whether they cover individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, or couples therapy?
-
Are there any limitations on the number of sessions reimbursed per year?
-
How long does it take to process a claim?
-
Where should I send my superbill and supporting documents?
-
-
-
Request a Superbill from Your Therapist
-
Reach out and ask for a superbill for the sessions you’ve attended.
-
-
Submit the Superbill to Your Insurance Company
-
Many insurers allow online submissions through their member portal but find out how they would like to receive the superbill.
-
Keep copies of your superbill and claim form.
-
Important Notes
Receiving a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement; it depends on your insurance plan. Always review your insurance benefits to understand your financial responsibility. Please confirm the process with your insurance provider.

While the process requires some effort, it can significantly reduce the cost of your care. If you have questions about superbills or need additional support, don’t hesitate to reach out!
